Declaring & Teaching – Jesus is Lord !

And just like that it was finished. This will be my last newsletter article as your president. Brian Logan will be taking on the challenges of leading and shepherding the congregation. I leave you with some words from Peter. Chosen in part because of Peter’s role in Christ’s ministry and Simon Peter is a larger than life figure in the Christian mini-series The Chosen. I encourage everyone to watch it, Debbie and I have seen many of the episodes in this three (3) season documentary on Christ countless times. Other than reading the scriptures, you will not find a truer depiction of our Lord and Savior and His ministry here on earth. All to His Glory!  Amen.

2 Peter 1:16-21, 3:14-18, 3:10

Eyewitnesses

1:16-21 For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such a declaration as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory: This is My beloved Son with whom I am well pleased”— and we ourselves heard this declaration made from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

And so we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture becomes a matter of someone’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

3:14-18 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which there are some things that are hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unscrupulous people and loose your own firm commitment, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be discovered.

Blessings,

Tim Grace
